Bookmaker Review
Bookmaker.com is a powerhouse in the online sports betting world. They’ve been around for a long time and they specialize in sports betting, internet poker and casino gambling. The emphasis has always been on sports betting but the poker room and internet casino are very nicely done as well. If you’d like to place all your bets in one location, Bookmaker.com is the place to go.
Bookmaker is highly trusted by sports bettors and the company makes it a point to guarantee privacy to all its clients. They have some of the highest betting limits in the industry and they understand that many high rollers place a premium on their privacy. This is especially true for clients who work in the acting, sports and political arenas.
Bookmaker.com Sportsbook Review
The sportsbook at Bookmaker.com is where most of the action goes down. They definitely place a focus on American sports, but international sports are covered as well. The list of available sports includes football, baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, racing, rugby and more. Every major sport is covered in-depth with a variety of betting lines and options.
For major sports, Bookmaker.com covers more than just one league. In the baseball section, for example, punters can place bets on the MLB as well as the Mexican League. The list of available bets is diverse and includes traditional matchup bets as well as props, totals, points spreads and more depending on the sport.
Sports betting fans will also enjoy the Bookmaker.com loyalty program. Every time you place a bet on sports, you are rewarded with BetPoints. These points accrue in your player account and can be redeemed for cash, prizes and frequent flyer miles. It’s just one more promotion that adds to your bottom like at Bookmaker.
Bookmaker Poker
Bookmaker added its poker room after witnessing the explosion of poker in the United States. The poker room accepts real money players and tables are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Traffic is not the greatest at the poker room but the games are among the softest on the internet. If you don’t mind the limited game selection, there is some good money to be made off the fishy players at Bookmaker Poker.
The no limit cash games at Bookmaker start at $0.05/$0.10 no limit and go up to $5/$10 no-limit. The traffic mostly congregates at the low stakes games here, but there are usually a few players waiting at the higher stakes tables. Fixed limit games start at $0.50/$1.00 and go up to $15/$30 but they are completely dead. The same thing goes for other poker variants such as Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo.
Unfortunately, the tournament scene is much the same. There are a few sit-n-go tournaments each day and a couple of multi-table tournaments but nothing of note. At the time of this review, there were only three MTTs that had any registrants. Two of those tournaments were freerolls and the other was a $6 tournament with 33 players in it. The games are extremely soft, but you’re definitely going to have to be patient here.
I hate to bag on Bookmaker’s poker room too much, but the software deserves a mention here as well. This is easily the worst poker software I’ve ever seen in my life – and I’ve reviewed a lot of poker rooms. It looks and functions like something that was built in the early 1990s. The software is clunky, outdated, hard to navigate and has the worst graphics around. You can switch between a 3/4 overhead view and full 3D mode, but don’t expect much.
Another words, if you are looking for a poker room, we don't recommend Bookmaker. You may want to check out Full Tilt Poker or the Sportsbook.com Poker Room, which are both top choices.
Bookmaker Casino
I’m glad to report that the Bookmaker casino does not follow in the same footsteps as the poker room. The casino at Bookmaker.com is a high class operation that looks nice and runs well. There are about 50 games to choose from in a variety that includes table games, slot machines, video poker, bingo and keno.
Once you have an account at Bookmaker, you can access the casino by visiting the Bookmaker website and logging in. The casino is displayed within your web browser so there is no need to download anything. Every game opens in a separate window with crisp graphics and smooth animations.
The game selection here isn’t as diverse as you’ll find at straight-up casino sites, but they still have all the basics including blackjack, craps and a variety of slots. The slot machines are eye-catching and very entertaining. The bingo games are also worth a look – they even offer mini-slots within the bingo window to help pass time during long bingo rounds.
Deposit Bonus
The Bookmaker sportsbook and casino share an initial deposit bonus of 20% worth up to $500. The minimum deposit amount is $300 and it requires a total rollover of 5 times the bonus plus deposit amount. So if you deposit $500, you’ll get a $100 bonus and need to wager a total of $3000 before withdrawing the bonus.
The Bookmaker poker room has an initial deposit bonus of 100% worth up to $500 extra. This bonus is added to your first deposit and it also has wagering requirements of 5 times the bonus plus deposit amount. So if you deposit $500 and get the full $500 bonus, you’ll have to wager a total of $5,000 at the poker tables. That may sound like a lot, but it’s actually easy to do because every bet you make at the tables counts.
Deposit Options
Bookmaker excels in offering many deposit methods to its players. The full list of deposit options is too lengthy to list here, but rest assured there are multiple ways to get your money online. The country in which you live also has an effect on which deposit options are displayed within the cashier. Some of the more common deposit options include:
- Visa / MasterCard
- eWalletXpress
- Click2Pay
- Moneybookers
- Eco Card
- ClickandBuy
- Bank Wire Bank Transfer
